The Most Important Command
Matthew 22:36-40
34-36 When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: “Teacher, which command in God’s Law is the most important?”
37-40 Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.”

18-20 Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

Joyce Stewart
Administrative Assistant
Joyce graduated from IU with a Special Education degree and previously served as the Director of Program Operations at Christole for 16 years. God led her to the job at Northside when her stress level had reached its limit. Joyce has 1 daughter, 1 step-son, 2 grandsons, and 3 fur babies. She has been married to her husband Paul for almost 11 years. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going to flea markets, and visiting the ocean and waterfalls.
Nick Defore
Lead Pastor
Nick graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Youth Ministry in 2005. Prior to coming to Northside he served at Wheatland Christian Church (IN) and Seymour Heights Christian Church (TN) in youth and family pastor roles. Nick is married to his wife Tessa and they have three children. In his spare time Nick likes hobby board games, being outdoors with his family, and sports.
